Ponchos are fall’s best friend. They are warm, stylish, and they are as comfortable as wearing a sweatshirt. How can you beat that? I’ll admit that I only own two, but a marigold Pongo poncho stole my heart. This Pongo poncho is handmade right here in the USA, made with recycled fleece which is environmentally friendly, and comes in a variety of colors. (Custom color orders are available for any color if you contact them directly.) Here’s where I think you get some serious bang for your buck with a poncho:
- You can dress it up like I did here and wear it anywhere: travel, work, happy hour, etc. (Especially travel…it’s like wearing a blanket!)
- It’s perfect for maternity and nursing mothers.
- It’s easy to throw on after a workout in the colder months.
- It’s the perfect thing to take with you for a night out when it might get chilly…especially in movie theaters.
I styled this one with a contrasting color of red, pairing it with my Ona Chan Tigers Eye bracelet, Valentino boots and YSL Sac de Jour. I have a new Brooklyn Hat Company wool felt hat with a cute buckle trim, so I added it to the look. Ponchos look so pretty with hats!
I kept the jewelry and accessories simply because my Pongo has a large neck and hoodie, so I didn’t want to overdo it.
One last thing: are you a little concerned about the expression lines on your face? I’ve started paying closer attention to the “elevens” between my eyes and the “parentheses” on either side of my nose and mouth. Those lines get deeper with each passing year, so I just started using Revision Skincare Revox 7. It’s easy to add to your skincare routine; you just apply it to clean skin prior to moisturizer and gently dab it on expression lines around eyes, forehead and mouth. You can even use it on your neck! In my experience, lines get softer, faster. If your expressions are adding years to your face, you should check it out!
