Storms in the South this time of year are pretty common. Though they have the ability to do damage, there is also something really cleansing about a good thunderstorm when spring flowers are trying to emerge. The past two years have been a bit stormy in big and small ways, but great things emerge every day that I wasn’t expecting. Though losing my grandfather was hard, I would never have gone back and read over the dozens of black notebooks he kept his sermons in if he was still with me. Reading the words from his life’s work has opened my eyes to just how brilliant he really was. I never looked much past his corny jokes to see the depth of his spiritual acumen.
One of my favorite jewelry designers, Miriam Merenfeld, makes the most beautiful lightening bolt necklace, and when I saw it, I fell in love. For anyone who has weathered a storm and come out of it with a radiant light, this is a piece you’ll absolutely love, too. I’ve barely taken it off since it arrived! She has an amazing collection of meaningful, beautiful work…like this Inspirational Quote necklace that you can personalize.
Another favorite thing that I’m crushing on is from my long-time buddy from the land down under, Chris Parke. He sent me the fourth volume in a compilation CD he put together for fans of his amazing site that features bands, solo artists, actors, directors, and models. He has been putting together these giveaway CD’s as a way of promoting music. And let me say: it’s amazing when someone opens your eyes to new music that will becomes the soundtrack to your summer.
