I have to be honest. The day we shot this, I was so incredibly tired that I didn’t feel much like getting creative with my wardrobe.
I’d shot TV/radio commercials that morning, helped my Mom pack up and clear out scores of things at my grandparent’s house (which we are trying to ready to sell,) and still had countless errands to run before heading to a rosary & visitation for my friend. And all of that took place in this exact outfit before we shot these photos.
Which leads me to this: some days, it’s less about being fashionable, and more about being “pulled together”. I look at some blogs and I’m in awe of how incredibly stylish some of these chicks can be. All the time. It’s all aspirational, of course, but doesn’t it sometimes make you feel like you’re failing in the fashion department?
In those moments, I have to remind myself that even those people are a part of the sweatpant mafia, too. I’ll bet they take off that Valentino and Helmut Lang once their blog shoot is over and put on their stretchiest pair of yoga pants. And if they don’t? I’ll be happy to tell them what they’re missing.
Today is dedicated to normal, “I don’t have time to think out what I’m wearing” wardrobe days. Just look like you tried, and that’s all that counts.
