May I confess something? I feel completely silly taking photos for this blog. Seriously.
I am not a model (obviously). I am short. I have issues with how big my knuckles are from years of cracking them. I look ridiculous doing the “duck face” pout.
My non-smiling face kinda looks angry. And it’s pretty ridiculous when you think about all of us who are style bloggers taking such gratuitous photos of ourselves and our outfits. (Who do we think we are, anyway?)
But….I have to also confess that I love reading other people’s blogs. I soak up their photos and the creativity they put into them. I am inspired by what other people find beautiful, stylish, and cool. I like seeing other people put themselves out there, as silly as it may sometimes be.
We aren’t hard-hitting journalists or Pulitzer-Prize winning authors, but we are sharing one small piece of our passion with the internet. Sometimes people see it or read it, and that’s pretty cool. But even if no one else sees it or likes it, it still means I’m creating something each day. And that keeps my imagination fueled for my other work. My Grandmother always kept herself busy creating; whether it was trying a new dish in the kitchen, sewing clothes, or rearranging the furniture in my bedroom while I was at school. (Which used to make me so mad!) But all those things kept her imagination and spirit youthful. And I want that for my life, too.
