Whether you’re actually going back to school this month or just dreaming of it, there’s nothing wrong with keeping the tradition of “back to school” shopping alive. I always loved it; a whole new set of cool clothes to start the year off right. It was reminiscent of the excitement of Christmas morning, except it meant having to actually go back to school and study in order to get these clothes. Oh well. I can still sing all the books of the Bible in chronological order, type at warp speed, and speak a few Spanish phrases really, really well. Gracias, la educación.
I really did love school. There’s something about back to school shopping that brings out the desire for a few wardrobe staples that can carry you through- semester after semester. A good button-up shirt, a sturdy pair of dark wash jeans, a neutral blazer you can wear with anything, and a honey colored leather belt. (I wore this amazing #Wallisfashion blazer last Monday with a summer ensemble, but I wanted to show the versatility a piece like this has for fall, too.) Oh, and don’t forget to pick up a handbag that may or may not be all that practical. After all, it can’t be all wooden rulers and Elmer’s glue. Sometimes you have to reach past the necessary staples and just go ahead and buy yourself some glitter.
On another note, I meant to post the winner of the Blushington giveway on Friday, but I was in lovely Vail, Colorado and didn’t get the chance I thought I would. So, thank you to everyone who entered the contest. The winner is Roselle Pliego. I will be in touch today to mail you the fabulous gift. Enjoy!
