Twenty-three dollars. That’s the price of this adorable ruffle dress! I almost fell out of my chair when I realized how true to size it fit, how substantial the fabric was, and how much money I saved by ordering this baby instead of searching all day at the mall for a dress to wear for a night out with friends this weekend. 23?! Amazing. (It ties in the back with a little sliver still open, but with the pretty ruffle up front, you can get away without wearing a bra.) You can order it here, and get 10% off right now, too!
Before I get to the products that are making life easier these days, I want to give a shoutout to a place in Dallas that has given me amazing service and results. (My New Year resolution was to share good reviews of places I love, since it’s so easy to fall into the terrible trap of complaining about services you didn’t like.) You may recall that I went to Skintastic for my laser hair removal a while back, and I was thrilled with the results. I went back to them recently to help me smooth out some of my features on my face, and they were amazing! Dr. Adelglass and his wife, Barbara, are two of the kindest, friendliest people I’ve ever met. They don’t make you feel silly when you tell them what your beauty goals are; they listen and offer suggestions on how to achieve what you want. They have some of the most cutting edge procedures you can get, like Dermaroller Collagen-Induction Therapy (CIT). I hope that if you live in the Dallas area you will give them a try…I can attest to the fact they help people feel better about themselves and keep it budget-friendly.
Okay, now let me talk about breath. Lots of different things lead to crazy breath; the onions on your burger, the post-nasal drip you get from allergies, the medicines you’re taking, and of course, the coffee/tea you drink. I looooove to chew gum, but sometimes it doesn’t get the job done. And I don’t want to lug around a bottle of mouthwash everywhere I go. Enter LUSH Mouthwash Tabs. LUSH has quickly become a brand that I love to buy for myself and for friends because the products are natural and smell delicious. So when I saw what basically looks like Pop Rocks for your breath made by LUSH, I went all in and tried all the flavors. First is Cremè de Menthe, which is pepperminty goodness and my hands-down favorite. Next is Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, which is a lemon-y, citrus-y flavor, and Ugai, which didn’t have much of a taste to me, but was soothing. You place one of the little tabs on your tongue, take a small sip of water, let it fizz up, and then swish it around like you would do with any mouthwash. Spit it out, and presto! Freshest breath ever. Here is another reason you should spend the $9.95 on this: they make travel simpler (keeps your liquid count down) AND they’re better for the environment because they require so much less packaging than your typical liquid mouthwash. My husband now keeps a bottle at his desk for after lunch and before meetings, and I keep one in my purse. Gum and Altoids can do a little when you need it, but these make you feel like you’ve actually brushed, flossed, and rinsed!
My skin needs to look fresh, too, and I just ran out of the regular cleanser I’ve been using. L’Orèal has a Pure Clay line of products and I’ve been faithfully using their Pure Clay masks for a year now. Well, now they’ve come out with Pure Clay Cleansers, which turns from clay to mousse as you wash your face! A little goes a loooong way, so you just need a tiny dollop to get your makeup off and face clean. (It does have a lovely clean scent, so if you prefer unscented products, you may want to try another one of their cleansers.) What I love most about this line of cleansers is that they don’t dry your face out. My biggest complaint about many cleansers is that they get your face clean enough, but leave it dry and cracked. I especially love the L’Orèal Pure Clay Detox-Brighten Charcoal Cleanser, which I use in conjunction with the mask. You want to see blackheads and dirt removed? This is the ticket. The Mattify formula is especially great if you have oily skin. You’ll love this line….clay is where it’s at!
One last thing I want to mention….my sweet “Trending Now” necklace that I’m wearing in this post. My former co-host and friend, Neeha, gave this to me for my birthday. My favorite segment on the morning show we did together was called Trending Now, and she had this made in her own handwriting. How sweet is that?!
