I’m a little behind on blog posts, so please forgive the delay. I’ve been shooting quite a bit and taking some new workshops on things I’m interested in. Learning to be proficient in Spanish is on my spring/summer To-Do List, and learning some new makeup techniques has been on my mind, too. I recently took a workshop from one of the best makeup artists in Los Angeles (MakeupAri), and it was very inspiring! I tried a few of her techniques in this post.
Here are a few things I learned that surprised me:
1. Ben Nye Banana powder is amazing for highlighting and contouring the face.
2. When you see a photo of a celeb in a magazine, she is likely wearing six lip colors blended together instead of one color.
3. Mink lashes are the most beautiful falsies and worth the extra money!
4. Gel eyeliner layered with MAC Carbon patted lightly on top is an easy way to a subtly smoky eye.
Oh, and I couldn’t resist a ballerina leap at the end of this shoot. Something about this dress made me want to dance!

I was a ballerina, were you too? This dress looks stunning on you and I like how you chose a top knot to go with it!
