Last Friday, the new romantic comedy, Baggage Claim, hit theaters. I have to admit; I had low expectations of this film when I attended the press screener because almost every romantic comedy I’ve seen this year has been a disappointment. However, Paula Patton, Adam Brody, Djimon Hounsou, Taye Diggs, Christina Milian, and Derek Luke bring charm, wit, and sweetness to David E. Talbert’s film.
Here’s the low-down: Montana Moore (played by Patton,) has a mission to get engaged before her youngest sister’s wedding. Working as a flight attendant with good friends/co-workers, they concoct a plan with 30 days to find her Mr. Right. Using work connections to “accidentally” meet up with her ex-boyfriends and keeping one eye open for new prospects, she covers many miles and many awkward situations.
Some of the great things about this film besides the adorable (though implausible,) storyline, is the lack of foul language and the gorgeous style. Patton looks stunning in everything she wears, but one scene stole the show for me. Dressed in black leggings and killer black stilettos, she runs through the airport frantically to catch a flight that could have the love of her life on it. The combo was inspiration for today’s post, and super easy to achieve. When putting it together, I got to try the new Jockey Collection preferred by Rachel Zoe strappy shapewear tank. When I say this new collection is full of must-have staples, I mean it. It’s sleek and pretty, and fits like a dream. (It’s an affordable line, too. You can find more info on twitter at @Jockey and @RachelZoe.)
If you want a handful of belly laughs and to spend an hour and half simply having a good time, Baggage Claim fits the bill. Plus, Paula Patton’s character style is worth the price of the ticket! It’s in theaters now, so don’t miss it.
