I love cobalt blue. I love Lapis jewelry. There’s something about this color that makes me feel more cheerful. I once took a class where they recommended that this color be worn for job interviews and auditions because it’s a non-threatening color that displays confidence. Well, at five months pregnant and growing bigger and bigger by the day, I definitely need a color that inspires confidence! 🙂
I feel lucky that I’m expecting in a time where maternity options are cute and stylish, and wearing form-fitting clothes gives women an opportunity to show off the bump. I wore fairly large, breezy shirts and dresses for the first four months trying to keep the bump under wraps until we announced it, and now I’m relieved to wear things that show that I’m actually doing this pregnancy thing. I got this dress affordably from Forever21, but there are tons of great maternity options for bodycon dresses.
Expecting a baby has certainly made me more conscientious of what productsI use. I was given the chance to try Wren Natural, which is a line of natural body care products that the whole family can use. I have been trying out new cleansers, so I gave their Cleansing Grains 3 in 1 Facial Cleanser ($25) a try. It comes with a little wooden spoon that you use to dish out a little of the grains, mix with water, and massage on to your skin. It basically cleanses, exfoliates, calms, and balances all in one. It even doubles as a face mask if you leave it on for awhile. Their website even says the ingredients are so natural, it wouldn’t even hurt you to eat them. Talk about using something super safe on your skin! It made my skin feel soft and not one bit irritated, which is awesome. It’s extremely gentle, so if you have sensitive skin or get a sunburned face this summer, Wren Natural will feel oh so good.
Deodorant has been a struggle for me. Finding a natural deodorant that works is tough, friends. I’ve made my own from Milk of Magnesia and Lavender Oil, but it’s not always the most effective. I saw that Wren makes a Natural Deodorant ($12) with glowing reviews. It combines the antibiotic, antiseptic, and antibacterial power of natural essential oils such as Tea Tree, Lavender, Sandalwood, and Clove. You just scoop out a little from the jar and wipe it in your underarm area, and that’s it! Obviously, you will still sweat, but when you do, you don’t smell horrible…you smell clean! I’ll admit, it’s a little weird at first to rub your deodorant on with your fingers, but I love the Lavender scent. If you have read any of the articles about commercial antiperspirants being linked to things like breast cancer and Alzheimer’s, and deodorants containing aluminum causing a host of health problems, you’ll want to consider switching to a natural deodorant like this one. It works, and it could be a life saver.
