I can’t believe July is almost over-how times flies! We get an extended summer here in Texas, but it’s been a little exciting seeing stores like Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale put some fall favorites out on the floor. All the leather boots and sweaters make me long for cool weather, but for now, it’s still 100 degrees and requires staying cool by whatever means necessary. Like a dress with holes in it.
I recently got a crash course on the trends for 2014, and one BIG trend is going to be crochet. I LOVE how soft and feminine crochet looks! I bought this little ivory crochet dress a while back, and it’s been the perfect thing to throw on for just about any occasion. Though crochet is kind of its own “print”, I added printed woven wedges to give it a splash of color. I love colorful earrings and accessories, so I piled on a few of those as well.
My recommendation? Buy something crochet that you love, because it will carry you through 2014 and be on trend. If all-over crochet isn’t your thing, don’t worry. There are shoe styles coming to stores this fall with crochet detailing, and they are so super cute that you won’t be able to resist. (Or you can grab this colorful pair from Tom’s right now!) And you can always grab a budget-friendly bag from The Sak to add some crochet to your handbag rotation. Don’t be afraid to be “hole-y”! Crochet is here to stay for a while.
