I have to admit that I hoped the trend of double denim would go away at first. It reminded me of bad fashion choices of the 90’s, and I didn’t like it one bit.
Aside from all the Canadian tuxedo jokes from my husband, I’ve come around. I like it now. It’s cute (when done correctly,) and is one of those “Oh, I just threw this on” fashion looks that appears effortless, but still pretty darn cool. I think double denim in varying shades is definitely a look that can be done beautifully and very inexpensively. With the holidays around the corner, most of us don’t need to spend $150 on a soft denim shirt, so check out places like Nordstrom (this one is under $40), Zara (under $50), and Ann Taylor (under $60 and gorgeous).

I wasn’t hot on the trend at first either, but it has really grown on me. I like it best how you’re wearing it, with dark denim on the bottom and lighter on top.
