Emerald Dress / Brown Wedge Sandals / Louis Vuitton Neverfull / Beacoup Octagon Earrings / Pave Circle Cuff Bracelet / Gold Knot Cuff Bracelet / Amelia Rose Initial Cuff / Cartier Watch
Easter is this weekend, so the spring colors are out and about in every store. I fell in like with this emerald dress with a mock neck, because the color is so radiant. This color looks beautiful on everyone, and pairs well with a colorful shoe or any neutral…black, brown, white…all of them!
To go with all those spring colors, I updated my makeup kit. I’ve been a long-time user of all things L’Oréal, so I thought I’d share some of the new favorites. They’ve come out with some new products that rock my world:
- L’Oréal Brow Stylist ($14):This little brow compact is everything your brows have been waiting for. There is a creamy color side and a darker powder on the other side, and they work perfectly together. I use an angled eye brush and lightly fill in my brows and trace around the sparse parts to give it shape, and then go back and fill in by patting a bit of the powder with the brush to set the color. It lasts all day, which is awesome.
- L’Oréal Infalliable Black Velvet Liquid Eye Liner ($10): Finally! A beautiful liquid eyeliner that is basically fool-proof. The felt tip of the liner is so easy to use, you’ll wonder why you ever struggled with a tiny, thin-tip liquid liner. You won’t have those weird smears and smudges, unless you want to use the soft tip to lightly smudge and create a less precise, smokier eye. This stuff also stays put, so you don’t have to worry about it traveling all over your face.
- L’Oréal Infalliable Pro-Contour & Highlight ($10): I have never been much on contour and highlight, but this product has changed my mind. Best piece of advice I’ve gotten from a makeup artist when it comes to contour? Start at the tragus of the ear (that hard, meaty part at the outer center,) and only use contour in a sweeping motion until you get to where the tail end of your eye brow begins. NO FURTHER. Most of the time people sweep all the way to the apple of the cheeks, but it begins to look too harsh or streaky. Sweep a bit of highlighter above your contour line and blend!
- L’Oréal Eye Shadows 200 & 213: These eye shadows are velvety smooth and don’t leave messy creases. I love these colors for spring, and I use 213 (the teal color), as an eye liner as well when I wet my eye lining brush and dip it in the shadow. Eye liner doesn’t always have to be black, brown, or gray, right?
I’m proud to say that everything on this post is super affordable and budget-friendly…the makeup, the dress, the shoes, the jewelry. Okay, maybe not the handbag and watch, but everything else. (The pretty gold Octagon earrings from Beaucoup are only $29!) Saving your pennies this time of year is always a good idea, because summer vacation is just around the corner!
