Let’s talk gadgets. I’m a sucker for any new device the promises to make my life easier, get things done faster, or make me prettier. But with so many on the market, it’s hard to know which gadgets are actually worth the money. (And some of them are pricey!) I am going to share three of my current favorites that I think are worth the spurge and do what they say they do.
- Michael Todd Sonic Beauty Brush: I went from religiously using a Beauty Blender to using this sonic brush ($79) to apply my makeup and concealer. It keeps your foundation and concealer from settling into fine lines, and I feel like it gives a more natural appearance. It blends beautifully and is fast. The only downside is the fact that it needs to be charged every 3-4 days, but I keep mine plugged in right on my vanity so I don’t have to hunt for the charging cord.
- NU Face Mini Facial Toning Device: This is the weirdest gadget I own at $199, but it does work. It uses a microcurrent to tone your face, improve the lift of your skin and minimize wrinkles. It’s a little awkward to use at first, and you may be confused by the beeps prompting you to move to new areas of the face. (Side note: when you run out of the gel primer that comes with the device, you can buy aloe vera gel and it does the trick too, but for much less $$.)
- Tria Age Defying Laser: Okay, this one is the most expensive by far (approx. $599), but one of my favorite devices. It does improve your skin, it does give you results like the derm’s office, and it does give you a more radiant appearance. I find that it dries my skin out more as I increase the laser level over time, so be sure to use super hydrating serums and moisturizers. I like to use the device before work and before bed. It may take six weeks before you really notice a huge difference, but you will! (And it will save you some trips to the medspa.)
Is there a gadget that you can’t live without? Please tell me so I can test it out!
