There comes a point where you have to step away from watching NCIS re-runs and eating all the chocolate almond butter. It’s a big, beautiful world out there, and I’ve realized I spend far too much of it in a comfort zone. I’ve recently taken up hot yoga, which I love. The heat, the sweat, and the sheer exhaustion when we get to savasana has become like a new best friend. I have to push myself to keep my body healthy and looking the best that it can, so I’m not stopping with just yoga.
As a long-time fan of adidas (I’ve been an avid wearer since I began hosting the US Youth Soccer Show six years ago,) the timing couldn’t have been more perfect when I was offered the chance to try some new things. Since I decided to add running and weights to my yoga regime, getting a pair of Energy Boost 2.0 shoes was incredible. I’ve owned running shoes in the past that pinched my toes and started to hurt my feet after ten minutes. The Boost shoes are truly the most comfortable pair I’ve ever owned. In addition to shoes, I’ve been crushing on wearing anything that has CLIMACOOL®….which is definitely something you need when you’re doing yoga in a room over 100 degrees! (Especially in the sportsbra department, ladies.) Which is why I’m now devoted to the Supernova Racer Bra.
Though some people are bothered by the amount of perspiration in Bikram yoga, it doesn’t phase me. It feels cleansing. But having lightweight workout gear makes it easier. If you’re thinking of trying hot yoga, my advice is to have breathable, comfortable clothing, a glass bottle of ice water, and bring a hair band! (Sweat in the eyes is no fun.)
Though I refuse to give up my daily chocolate almond butter and the occasional caramel popcorn, I feel better knowing I’m doing good things for my body throughout the week. Mixing it up with indoor hot yoga and outdoor running/walking is currently what works for me….I want to be prepared for that first poolside party of the summer! And while I’m at it, I might as well look cute while I’m sweating it out.

I usually stick with Nike or something cheaper like Target, but this is a good feature on Adidas!

Thanks, Joules! I’ve been an adidas fan for a while, but with the craziness of our schedules these days, whatever it takes to get us motivated to work out is all we need, right? 🙂 Love your blog!
