You know what I’m so mundane about? My make-up.
I put it on basically the same way, with the same technique, and the same colors. BORING.
Which is why I was super excited to get the chance to sit in the makeup chair at Blushington to have my makeup done by a professional. Now, if you don’t have a Blushington in your area, let me fill you in. They provide you with professional makeup applications at affordable prices in a super cute, fun atmosphere. Gone are the days of only getting your makeup done for prom and weddings. Blushington makes it easy to get your look done by a pro-false eyelashes and all! They even offer affordable memberships for those ladies who need their full face of fabulous done more often.
They use (and retail) Stila, Becca, Julie Hewett and Kevyn Aucoin. AND, they apply Temptu for air-brushing. When I went in for my application, it was almost as if I was just hanging out with girlfriends and playing dress-up again. Amanda, who did my makeup, asked lots of questions about what I wanted, which was comforting. (It can be a bit scary when you are leaving your entire face in a stranger’s hands….and most makeup artists like to put me in hideous 1970’s orange lipstick for some reason. Bonus points to Amanda for not doing that and choosing a sexy Kevyn Aucoin red.)
Finished face? I loved it. It finally looked different from the way I always do it, but light years BETTER. And now you have a chance to win a complimentary full face from Blushington in Dallas, as well as a $20 credit towards any in-store service of your choice. Plus, you’ll get Blushington’s super awesome makeup blending sponge….these things are a must-have. They blend your makeup in perfectly.
Here’s how you enter: leave a comment on the blog, send an email, “Like” on Facebook or Twitter, OR cc: me on Instagram with a fun selfie of you this week. I will randomly select a winner by Friday, and have your goodies to you ASAP so you can get your makeup glamorously done, too!
After getting my makeup finished, I decided I needed to shop for some transitional pieces for fall…it’s right around the corner. This blazer from Wallis is my first major piece, and I LOVE it. It’s lightweight, has great movement, and goes with literally everything. I will be styling it again with a new outfit for fall soon so you can see how it works for both seasons. It comes in other colors and petite sizes for only $46 (hooray!), so check it out here. Happy Monday, everyone!
