Okay, I have to admit…I took very few photos of my annual girl’s trip last weekend at the beautiful Omni Barton Creek Resort in Austin, Texas. But I’m not ashamed to say why. I was trying my best to live in the present and not snap away on my phone every second of the trip. Sure, I don’t have much photo proof of how gorgeous the Barton Creek Golf Course is, or how lovely the resort was decorated for the holidays, or even how delicious the food was at the 8212 Wine Bar & Grill, but I do have the joy of memories that exist inside my head. And that’s pretty special.
If you’re considering staying at the Omni Barton Creek Resort, here are my recommendations:
Book early! This resort stays busy all year long, but the holidays seem to be an especially busy time.
Ask for drink vouchers. You can get a free coffee or hot tea from the hotel coffee shop.
Get a map for nature trail hiking from the front desk. The beautiful views of the area are too gorgeous not to experience on foot!
If venturing out, be prepared to spend a little time sitting in traffic if you’re heading into Austin proper. Also, make reservations at restaurants when you can…there can be some long wait times at popular restaurants like Snooze (awesome brunch), and Uchi. If you want to experience quintessential Austin, check out Hula Hut for good food, fun decor, and lake views.
**Important to note: Uber isn’t available in Austin proper. We were able to take Uber from the resort to dinner at Hula Hut, but not able to take it back from Hula Hut to the resort. Uber only operates on the outskirts of town. We tried Fasten, a new ride sharing company, which proved to be just as wonderful and easy as Uber. (We found the prices for Fasten to be lower than Ride Austin, another ride company.)
My overall rating of the hotel is a two thumbs up. The suite was beautiful and had awesome views, the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, and there are plenty of amenities. We only had a minor inconvenience- we weren’t give the exact suite we booked and there were some charges added to our bill that weren’t supposed to be there, but I chalk that up to the stress of the holiday season and tiny oversights being made. I would definitely return again!
*Now for my Laser Genesis update:
I’ve actually been really surprised by how many people have asked me about this procedure and have been following the progress. I completed my third laser treatment recently, and though the results take time, I’ve definitely noticed a difference. I’ve been going to Vitalize Medical Spa for treatments once a month, and the hot laser is doing some great work on my skin! The results are subtle, but undeniably there. If you have excessive redness, large pores, uneven texture, and fine‐line wrinkles, this procedure could be exactly what you need. The top picture was taken this weekend outside with no photoshopping or altering to our faces; only good sunset lighting and my iPhone7. Good lighting and my Revision Skincare certainly help, but my skin looks smooth and glowing in no small part thanks to the Laser Genesis treatments! (By the way, if you suffer from really bad skin, this is an awesome treatment. I went in with a breakout two months ago and this procedure cleared it right up.) If you live in the Dallas area and want to try it for yourself, I can’t recommend Vitalize Medical Spa enough. They are amazing.
