Puffer vests can be tricky. They add bulk, but they keep you warm. They look great on any age, any size, and with virtually any casual winter ensemble. I own three of them in various colors, and to be honest, I haven’t worn them very often over the years because I always felt a little marshmellowy. But after seeing how adorably J. Crew has styled them this year, I decided to give them another go.
You know what? The bulk of them really isn’t a big deal. They look cute, comfortable, and if you find one in your school colors, they are perfect for a fall football game on a cool day. If you’re on the fence about wearing these fluffy beauties, start with an inexpensive version from Old Navy, F21, or Banana Republic and work them into your winter wardrobe. You might find that you like being puffed up.
