Have you seen bandanas everywhere for fall? They’ve been trending for a while now, and all the top fashion mags featured them as the next “big” accessory. I have to be honest; I wasn’t into the trend. I found most of the bandanas to be very “country western” looking, no matter what they were paired with. But then I found Aviva Winter, who makes stylish bandanas that are actually dressed up and incredibly pretty.
I went with the “Downtown Tribe” style, which is a black sequin (handmade!) bandana that can be worn long or short (c/0). It has three magnetic closures, so you can adjust it depending on your outfit. What I like about this particular bandana is you can dress up your t-shirt or your little black dress. It looks great with both! I chose to wear it over a leopard print dress to add an extra layer of interest. Anyone can throw on a necklace with a dress; a bandana is a completely modern way to add some jazz! If you want to take a break from the usual fall/winter scarf, one of these gorgeous bandanas is definitely the way to do it.
My other new accessory is these thin, simple twisted rings from Royal Flash Jewelry Studio on Etsy. Delicate rings are so pretty, with a $10 price tag for these beauties, you can stack up a few different colors and styles. They have some of the most beautiful, (affordable!) simple rings and earrings that look lovely alone or worn in stacks. I’ve been wearing mine almost daily since they arrived (c/o). Check out their Etsy page for more beautiful jewelry…these rings make fabulous gifts.
I finished off this look with some new beauty favs c/o from L’Orèal: The La Pallette for Lips in Nude, Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation, and Colour Riche Eye Shadows in Boudoir Charme. The nude shades in the La Pallette Lips and Boudoir Charme eye shadows are going to get me through fall-the colors are spot on. The copper, rust, and champagne colors have a beautiful shimmer, and they are highly pigmented. I didn’t want to go completely nude colors with my look, so I spiced things up with my nail polish. Studies have proven red nails are considered confident and sexy, so I went for this gorgeous Essie Gel Nail Polish in Rock the Runway, a fierce scarlet red (c/o). I topped it off with the Gel Couture Top Coat, which is quick drying and gives off an ultra-glossy finish. I can’t tell you enough how great these gel polishes are if you are frustrated with your current polish chipping quickly. Essie Gels last much longer than what I used to wear, and I love how much time it saves me.
That’s it for this week! I will be back next week from Vancouver, Canada….
