This will be a short post, but I wanted to share a few photos with my favorite (and only!) pair of red boots. I think most of us have black and brown boots in our closet, and possibly gray. But when it comes to buying a non-neutral, are you willing to spend the cash on a quality pair?
I wasn’t, until my Mom convinced me these red Valentino boots would be a life-long regret if I didn’t get them. That’s pretty dramatic, but I do believe I would have missed a great opportunity to branch out. Once you own a pair of brightly colored boots, you’ll discover that you will wear them much more than you expected.
I have worn these with a silk midi-skirt and chunky sweater, black leather leggings, and scores of outfits like this one with jeans. I loved how they paired so well with this super cute blazer with red velvet trim! I wore my grandmother’s softwash denim shirt underneath and my vintage GAP leather belt.
My advice? Go ahead and invest in a fun, brightly colored piece, whether it’s boots like these or a handbag, belt, etc. Spend the money on a quality item that will last, not just a trendy piece that won’t have relevance past this season. Pick a classic shape or style in a bright color and use it for years to come as the surprise pop of color to your outfit! (Check out of my fav red boots below.)
