It might sound un-American, but I actually don’t like ice cream. Okay, I used to, but I worked a few summers dipping ice cream at at summer job and ate so much of it that I made myself sick of the stuff. (Too much Tin Roof Sundae and Big Ed’s!) But since being pregnant, I’ve had ice cream a couple of time and loooooved it. There is a new place called Creamistry that makes the creamiest, richest ice cream-I get mine with a coconut milk base- and it’s amazing!
Summer Blowout: I stopped to get this ice cream treat right after a relaxing blowout at a new blowdry bar called CoBarBC in Dallas. It’s a new concept by the hair genius behind Hair By Charlie, who is our city’s resident celebrity hair stylist and all-around super cool guy. My stylist, Gaby Gomez, did a beautiful job creating beachy, undone waves and natural-looking volume. If you find yourself in Dallas (or you live here,) I highly recommend popping in for a seriously enjoyable blowout experience. They tailor your look to what is right for YOU, not from some pre-set list of styles in a lookbook.
Maternity Dress: I am trying my best to stay out of a full-blown maternity wardrobe until the last few months, but dresses are getting tighter and tighter! I found this line, Monrow, and I fell in love with this dress. It’s comfy, cute and cool for summer. I’m still planning on rocking high heels until I can’t take it anymore, because I feel sooo short without them. 🙂
Urban Decay Beached: And as a long-time Urban Decay cosmetics fan, I can’t even begin to tell you how gorgeous their Beached collection is for summer. It came out at the perfect time; I’d just run out of bronzer! Their Beached Bronzer comes in two pretty shades: Bronzed and Sunkissed. What I like most about these bronzers is that they are finely milled, meaning they don’t feel dry and caked on when you use them. They are great for contour and all over sun glow. The Beached Eye Palette, which you can see above, has some of the prettiest colors for summertime. I love burnt oranges and copper tones since I’m a redhead, and this palette has the best shades! I also love to use the Double Dip and Plunge colors by wetting my eye shadow brush and using them as an eyeliner!
The actual 24/Glide On Eyeliner in Lucky is stunning…who knew copper on the waterline of the eyes would be so beautiful? And the Vice Lipsticks in the Beached collection are so subtle and lovely. I am a huge fan of Heat Wave, which is a gorgeous, creamy gold that stays on extremely well (even through an ice cream attack!) and matches the warm tones in the eye palette perfectly. I haven’t seen a better collection of summer colors by any other brand this summer!
