It’s Christmas Eve, and it’s also the birthday of two of the most important people in my life. One of them is acting ridiculously silly with me in the pictures above, and the other came to earth to save mankind. I’m a lucky girl to have them both in my heart.
Though I’m a sucker for pretty things and enjoy seeing the beauty style can bring to our lives, I am captivated more by the things in life that last. More than ever, I see the need for deep, committed relationships that take precedence over Facebook posts, working overtime, or selfish pursuits.
People are seeking love and acceptance; let’s give each other that gift. One of the best gifts I received this past year was precious time spent with loved ones who have now gone on to Heaven. Though it may have been inconvenient to adjust my schedule to do so at times, I’ve never regretted putting in the time with those who matter most. If only I could do that with a cheerful heart all year long.
May this Christmas be a reminder to us all to spend time with The One who gave us the greatest gift, and to give thanks for those who make our lives richer, fuller, and worth celebrating.
Happy Birthday, and Merry Christmas!
