Remember when you were a kid and you sat close to the fireplace roasting a marshmallow? The warmth and glow were so comforting and cozy. Even now, I sometimes lay down in front of my fireplace when it’s lit up so I can relax in the warmth with my two (always cold,) chihuahuas. The feeling of “cozy” never gets old.
The word on the street is that we are in store for a long, cold winter, so I’m prepared for it. Here are a few of my new favorites that you might want to try:
- A winter cape in an unexpected color. Yes, black, grey, and camel are all lovely, traditional colors. But what about this ice blue? It’s a like a grown-up lady’s version of Frozen! I love this gorgeous and super soft cape by Valerie Garmino….it’s made of baby alpaca wool, which means it also isn’t scratchy. It’s responsibly sourced and cruelty-free, too. Every time I’ve worn it, I’ve been bombarded with questions about where it’s from. It will keep you very warm, but it’s also lightweight and easy to travel with. The best part is you can accessorize it with different belts, scarves, or long opera length gloves like the ones I’m wearing.
- Next up, long gloves! You can keep your hands and arms warm, but look elegant at the same time. These are a winner!
- Soft skin under all those layers. I can’t preach to you enough about the AMAZING Dermalogica products that get me through winter. I have notoriously BAD dry skin…I look like an alligator most of the time without these. The Dermalogica Thermafoliant Microscrub and Phyto Replenish Body Oil are the best combo to keep you soft all winter despite cold temps, drying indoor heaters, hot showers, and scratchy sweaters. If you have a loved one who also likes cozy soft skin, I highly recommend gifting this duo. It’s worth the splurge for these.
I’m always on the hunt for items to make things warm and fuzzy for winter, so I’ll report back with more as the months go on!
