Ever been on a budget, and wondered if there is a dupe for your favorite MAC lipstick or Dior mascara? Ever struggled to find the right shade of foundation at the store-especially if they don’t have a tester to try it out on your skin? Or have you ever just wondered if you’re buying the right product for your skin type/tone? Yeah, me too. That’s where the Target Beauty Concierge comes in.
A few years ago, Target tested out having Beauty Concierges in several stores, and wouldn’t you know it? It was a hit. So now, we’re lucky enough to have them in Target stores all over the country! I visited mine this week to get some much-needed help on replenishing a few products I use for on-camera at work, and she didn’t disappoint.
Although she was super busy on the day I visited Target, I managed to squeeze in a few minutes to get her recommendations. The concierges have awesome iPads and black aprons, so you can’t miss them. If you are trying to find a BB cream like I was (I love Tarte, but now I need a more budget-friendly version), she can track down a dupe that is close, if not the exact same shade. I also needed help finding a pair of tweezers that wouldn’t dull after ten uses and was sharp enough to tweeze even the tiniest hairs. (Note: She recommends Tweezerman. Although they are a bit more expensive, they are amazing and will last so much longer than the cheaper versions I was buying before. And she’s right!) I also wanted to find a way to tan my legs in the winter, but not a self-tanner. Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs will wash off easily, but looks just as good as any spray-on tan. Finally, I really wanted a pretty palette of nude eye shadows and a nude nail color for work, but it would have to be on the less expensive side, since I was splurging on the pricier tweezers. She pointed me to an awesome nude eye palette by NYX (my fav brand,) and nail color by Revlon in Gray Suede, the perfect fall nude!
All in all, my first encounter with the Target Beauty Concierge was a fantastic experience. I implemented all the products she recommended into my beauty routine this past week, and just in case you’d like to see the products in action, below is a clip from the morning show I work on. Even with harsh lighting, I think the makeup she recommended held up beautifully! Visit the Target Beauty Concierge in your town and share your experience. Find your style @TargetStyle.
