Can you believe it’s already 2019? I’ve seen more posts on social media about vision boards, resolutions, and choosing a “word” for the year in the few days of 2019 than I’ve ever seen before. There seems to be a desire stirring within us to make this year one of positivity, reaching goals, and taking care of ourselves so we can face each day with confidence. Though I don’t do vision boards or choose a word for the year, I do like to set goals for the year and post them where I can see them regularly. One of those goals is to take much better care of my skin…and not just once or twice. I want to make it a year-long commitment, because then I know I will I see the results I’m after!
I’d heard hydrafacials are amazing from several friends who routinely get them and swear by their effectiveness for fine lines and pores. So when I had the chance to try one at Renew Beauty at Northpark Center, I was excited. I’d never been in Renew before, and this post was originally going to be about my experience with the treatment. However, after arriving, what struck me most about Renew Beauty was the way they treat their clients.
From the moment each client walked in the door, I saw them greeted warmly. Not only that, but the owner of Renew, Louise, chatted with guests and actually took time to ask about their holiday, their children, and what was new in their lives. She was kind, friendly, and made sure each person had a beverage if they wanted one. The rest of the staff was equally as warm and inviting, and many of them have been with the company for quite a long time-always a good sign. (They were all super positive and complimentary, and who doesn’t want to feel special and welcomed when you’re focusing on self-improvement?) Before having a single second inside a treatment room, I already had an overwhelmingly good feeling. While getting the room set up for my hydrafacial, I wandered around the lobby to check out some of the brands Renew carries, like SkinMedica, Morroccan Oil, Eminence, and Neocutis. Another great sign. I began to realize that feeling good about the time and money you spend on a procedure is about more than just the procedure itself; it’s the whole package.
Once we began, my aesthetician softly explained each step of the hydrafacial procedure, and even used products from the organic Eminence line on my skin since I am breastfeeding and can’t use skincare with retinols or chemical compounds. (FYI-the Eminence line smells so yummy! One sniff of these products and I was SOLD.) The procedure combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration and antioxidant protection at the same time, plus it’s non-invasive and non-irritating so you can walk out the door and head back to work, go on a date, or just face the general public and still look fab.
When it was all said and done, she handed me a mirror to look at my skin and WOW…it looked fresher and had a glow to it that I hadn’t seen in a very, very, very long time. I couldn’t believe it looked drastically better in such a short amount of time! (Plus, it’s moisturizing for dry skin…perfect for wintertime.)
What I love about the hydrafacial is that it’s quick, no down-time, and gives immediate results. In fact, my skin looked even better for the next several days afterwards. My makeup went on more smoothly and I didn’t need full coverage for my skin to look good. It’s an easy way to improve skin without requiring anything harsh or time consuming. I plan on making this procedure part of my routine each month to treat my skin…and myself.
Final note about my experience: I found that the incredible customer service was just as vitally important to the overall experience as the actual procedure. I think I often forget what amazing customer service is because it’s rare to find it these days. Renew Beauty treats their clients the way they would want to be treated, and it doesn’t get any better than that. If you don’t live in the Dallas area near Renew (though they have clients that drive or fly from other states for their services…!)I suggest finding a place like this to take care of your skin. How a business makes YOU feel is just as important as how they make your skin feel. Start off 2019 feeling like you are worth being pampered and hold fast to that sentiment all year long!
