Now that the holidays have come and gone, it’s time to kick off 2018 with a refreshed attitude. I actually love January for many reasons; one of which is the chance to begin wonderful new habits and routines. Some are serious and require internal thought, reflection, and study. Others are simply playful and meant to make me feel better about myself on the outside. I thought I’d share two of those new habits with you in this post…
First, the playful habit. I spent the holidays watching makeup tutorials and beauty review videos on Youtube with my sister. One thing I noticed in all the videos is that beauty experts master two things that make a dramatic difference: contouring with bronzer, and highlighting their faces. I’m pretty awful at both of those things. Juice Beauty has two squeeze tubes of fool-proof bronzer and illumination that have saved the day! PHYTO-PIGMENTS Juice Boost isn’t just a pretty combo of sheer shimmer and bronzing cream, but it’s made of organic ingredients that are plant-derived. The coverage is lightweight and you can apply it directly to your face, or add it to your tinted moisturizer, primer, or foundation for a really lovely glow. I used the EcoTools sponge to apply the bronzer to my cheeks, nose, and forehead over my foundation (before finishing powder), giving me an easy contour that still looks natural. I’m going to do another post showing you the pretty illuminating version, too.
Second habit? Starting the year off with a commitment to spiritual renewal. I LOVE subscription boxes, so when I heard about FaithBox, I was really happy. Rather than having to seek out materials to aid me in keeping my study of God’s word fresh, new, and exciting, FaithBox gives you the tools you need every month in a subscription box! Though there isn’t anything I love more than just reading the Word straight from my Bible, it’s nice to have additional Bible study tools and encouraging devotional materials to keep me from falling into a rut with my quiet time. I also love having encouragement to share with others. Here’s what was included in mine: Come and Eat, Book by Bri McKoy, Hope Deck inspirational cards that you can send as post cards, use for scripture memorization, write a thoughtful note to a friend, etc., Pick-Up Sticks game, Faithbox Inspirational Magnets, Spiritual Inventory Card to help you keep track of your spiritual growth, and the Impact guide– a booklet is your guide to your monthly box. You can have a monthly subscription ($25/box), 3-month ($24/box), or one year plan ($22/box). I think it’s really cool how a fun game was included with the more serious material…a good reminder that God wants us to have fun, connect with others, and make our joy a big part of our witness to others. I highly recommend a FaithBox as a gift to friends who you know will feel loved and encouraged by God’s word.
Happy New Year, everyone…thank you for continuing to come back to my site. I’m grateful for you!
