After Christmas and New Year’s, I’m back on the regular budget. That means no major splurges for a while, so getting creative with the wardrobe comes into play. When it’s 70 degrees one day and 20 degrees the next, it gets a little more complicated. That’s where layers and bargain shopping create a beautiful love story.
I bought this comfy, velvety sweatshirt (actually, I bought two of them,) at Old Navy after the holidays because they always have a wicked sale. Not only is it super comfortable, but it looks just as cute with jeans as it does the matching fleece lounge pants I bought to go with it. These are jeans I’ve had for a while, a vintage button-up that I borrowed from Grandma, and vintage rhinestone jewelry that I always loved to play dress up with as a kid. As much as I adore buying new things to wear, I also enjoy combing through the old and figuring out new ways to make it work. No one wants to start off the new year broke, so getting inspiration from other blogs (this one is a favorite,) and reworking budget pieces keeps me from overspending!
