I think everyone has that moment when they realize what their gift is. It’s a pretty special feeling when you have that realization that you are really, really good at something. Some people have that moment when they are little; others of us don’t even realize what it is until we’ve already been down another path for a while. But when you DO have it, I’ve been learning that you shouldn’t allow yourself to examine your externals and talk yourself out of your gift.
There are a million excuses you can come up with to shy away from your talents. I don’t have enough money. I don’t have the time. I’ll never be as good as that person over there. I’m too short. I’m too old. I don’t have the resources…the connections….the luck.
The good news is that all those excuses are lies. I don’t know if you’ve ever read any Bible stories, but Samson overcame a vast army with only the jawbone of a donkey. (Don’t ask me how that worked. Sounds very messy.) King David started off as a young boy with only five smooth stones, and yet he slay the giant Goliath and became King of Israel. And hey, even the guys in the band One Direction all came from humble beginnings and a measly X-Factor audition. The point is, it isn’t what you have or your current status that determines whether or not your gift can be used to prosper your life. With your unshakeable belief and dedication to using your talent in whatever way you can at this moment, good things will start to happen. It may not be today. Or tomorrow. Or even next year. But it WILL happen. Open the floodgates-allow yourself to KNOW you have a gift, and be proud of that. You have something no one else on earth has. And that is truly amazing.

Ok, seriously, Hils, how do you keep you “bosoms” up with a backless? This in itself a great blog post idea. Inquiring minds want to know…I want to know. Oh, and you look absolutely splendid. 🙂

You are hilarious! It’s called a backless adhesive bra and having no children. 🙂 Thank you for being so sweet and for reading the blog!

If we put our aspirations to our Creator, we will never Fail. We may stumble from time to time, but we will be led into the Path we need to be in. This makes us happy, and able to love others fully.
