Circle Monogram Necklace c/o / Ricochet Plaid & Denim Dress c/o / Cowboy Boots / Frosted Seaglass Bangle c/o / Iris Guy Vermeil Stud Earrings c/o / Shaded Aviators (similar)
I love any excuse to wear my cowboy boots. This time of year is especially great for boots, so when this cute little plaid and denim number from Ricochet came along, my boots found their match. (Btw-North and Central Texas shoppers: Ricochet is opening THIS WEEK! It’s in the heart of Waco, Texas and full of the cutest styles, shoes, and accessories you’ve ever seen. Be sure to make the Grand Opening on Nov. 6th!)
If you’ve been following the blog at all lately, you’ll notice I’m wearing my monogram on all kinds of things. This Circle Monogram Necklace from Ellie’s Sparkles is too cute for words. (Note: it comes in gold or silver letters.) It’s a great monogram piece to add a casual touch….not all monograms have to be fancy script. Though these are my initials, I also love the idea of wearing the monogram of a loved one, too.
I’m a bit lazy when it comes to my hair, so rather than take the time for a fancy French braid or fishtail, I tried a simple new hairstyle by Latest-Hairstyles.com contributor Melissa Cook. Here is how I did it:
You start by separating off a small section of hair at the top of the back of the head. Tie it off with a clear elastic band. Then, create a small gap right above the band and flip the end of the ponytail up and through the gap. Pull the tail back down, creating a topsy tail. Pick up two new sections of hair to the right and left of the first topsy tail. Tie these two sections together and create a second topsy tail directly beneath the first one. Create two more topsy tails with the remaining hair along the sides of the head. Separate off two outside pieces from the remaining hair and tie it into a fifth topsy tail.
Continue creating topsy tails using outside sections of the remaining hair, stacking them one below the next. After creating your last topsy tail, spray the style with hairspray and comb through the tail to remove any tangles. To create a fuller effect, gently pull on the edges of each individual twist until they become the size and shape you prefer.
Mist the style with a firm hold hairspray to finish and set it. Easy and looks so pretty!
