Sometimes when we shoot photos, the unexpected happens. (Bloggers never tell you these things, because we all secretly want everyone to think we always look posed, put together, and totally unphotoshopped. But it’s a lie.) One time, three different couples showed up in our location to shoot their engagement portraits. Awkward. We once had to race in and out of a Dairy Queen to shoot a DQ Blizzard that was melting at lightening speed. We’ve been chewed up by Texas-sized mosquitoes and accosted by high-schoolers driving by in souped up Crown Vics and Scions. And today, it rained.
Being the troopers we are, we toughed it out with a red umbrella and the acceptance that hair I immaculately curled this morning would look like a stringy, wet mess. Such is the rough life of people who shoot silly photos in the rain.
I loved this rainy day dress by Elie Tahari from the moment I saw it, and knew it would be a fun one to photograph. Some dresses just have a way of jumping off the page. The colors are beautiful!
Speaking of beautiful dresses, have you heard about One Dress A Day? It’s a cool new ecomm site that releases one dress a day (very fitting title, eh?) and while their full launch is on August 26th, they’ve launched a sneak peek of their first dress! You can check it out in all its loveliness here: http://bit.ly/16416gR
As someone who clearly loves a dress rain or shine, it’s just another reason to get excited to shop online. I started following #OneDressADay on Instagram, and it’s getting me pretty pumped up about the launch!
