There’s nothing more beautiful than falling snow….and there’s nothing more chilling. Snow days spent outside mean keeping things simple and cozy. As much as I love to dress up, snow days are better spent in a warm pair of jeans.
Let me begin with my winter coat-this baby is the most amazing coat I’ve ever owned. (And I’ve owned quite a few!) It’s the Orobos Women’s Bonded Seam Moto Down jacket (c/o), and it’s the warmest, toastiest coat on the planet. When I say it keeps you warm, I mean I spent a loooooong time out in freezing temperatures and never once felt cold. If you’re a skier, you’d love having this on while you’re going down the slopes. Plus, it’s fitted! There are two zippers-one to create a tighter fit, and one that gives you a little more room if you’re wearing sweaters or multiple layers underneath. There is a removeable zipper hood if you are going full-out snow bunny and want to cover your head, too. I’m taking it with me everywhere this winter-it’s soft, lightweight, and seriously warm. Orobos has a pretty incredible selection of different kinds of jackets, so if yours isn’t keeping you warm and dry, I would give them a try.
Since I went so basic with my outfit, I wanted to dress it up a little with some jewelry. I stumbled across Bella & Bea, a new jewelry brand based in New York, and fell in love with the NYC-inspired designs. I had the chance to visit the High Line in New York last winter for the first time with my Mom, so seeing Bella & Bea’s High Line Necklace (c/o) brought back all those wonderful memories! The geometric design is crafted in Sterling Silver, and some of the pieces feature 18KT rose or 18kt yellow gold over Sterling Silver with colorful Mother of Pearl features. All of the pretty jewelry incorporates an iconic butterfly logo. One thing that really stood out to me when my piece arrived? The packaging had a hand-tied ribbon and a personal note from the designer inside! If you have a warm spot in your heart for NYC, you have to check out Bella & Bea.
Finally, a little makeup recommendation. L’Orèal Infallible Paints/Lip (c/0) have me soooo excited! I feel like I buy the same lip colors over and over, but these lip paints come in colors that get me to break out of my comfort zone. They are vibrant and full-color, so you don’t have to put on five layers for the color to be bold. The Lilac Lust is my dream color; it’s hard to find a gorgeous lavender lippie! Taupeless is a brown-ish neutral that reminds me of the lip color Kylie Jenner sports fairly often, and it’s fabulous. If you’re someone who is brave and a little more theatrical, the Domineering Teal or Bewitching Bordeaux will give you plenty of edge. In this post, though, I’m wearing L’Orèal’s Colour Riche Lipstick in Blushing Berry. Isn’t it lovely? I’ve lost count how many L’Orèal lipsticks I’ve bought over the years, but I can safely say that I loved them all. They don’t dry out my lips, which is one of the most important things you can have in a lip color!
And in case you’re wondering about my hat, it’s by Brooklyn Hat Co., and it kept the snow off my face and hair so I could play outside longer. 🙂
