If you’re a connoisseur of food, you’re a foodie. If you’re a connoisseur of socks, are you a sockie? Because I’m having a moment with socks. Yes, socks.
Long gone are the days of plain black, white, and brown socks. Today’s sock game has become elevated with stripes, sayings, and reflections of the wearer’s personality. I love that! You can have the most basic outfit on, but your socks become the cool accessory.
K. Bell is known for making super fun socks in addition to the helpful basics that we all have to have in our sock drawer. I fell hard for this crazy striped pair from K. Bell because they remind me of 80’s icon Punky Brewster! They are knee-high and perfect for those chilly fall and winter days indoors when you want to curl up with a good book or take a nap. (Like my Nap Queen sweatshirt? $16. It’s my new unofficial title.) One of the great things about having socks like these is that you can find a pair that fits your mood, no matter what you’re wearing….like….
Halloween! Who doesn’t love a cute pair of Witchy Kitty Halloween socks to wear when heading to a spooky party or chilling on the couch with hot cocoa and a long list of scary movies to watch….
Or, get cultural! These adorably colorful Swedish horse socks ($8) are fantastisk! Or, hey, you may just be feeling like chowing on Swedish meatballs one day and want your socks to reflect your craving. Either way, it’s fun to have socks like these in your drawer….
And let’s not forget socks for the cosmetic diva in our lives! Hot pink socks with makeup and mirrors make a great gift for the girl in your life who doesn’t go anywhere without her Kylie Lip Kit or Essie nail polish. These Just Makeup socks also make an awesome gift for a bachelorette or girl’s weekend goodie bag.
Speaking of skincare, I’ve mentioned Nyakio in a past post, but I just got around to try the Firming Face Balm and Depuffing and Firming Eye Cream that you can see in the pic next to my cute socks….both good stuff! I’ve noticed that getting up at 5:30 a.m. the day after gorging on salty tortilla chips can lead to some serious puffy face. The eye cream helps bring down the appearance of bloat under the eyes, and firms up lines. And the firming face balm (which smells a little like coffee!) does exactly what it says. It goes on smoothly and absorbs quickly, so no “sticky face”.
Well, that’s the socks, the whole socks, and nothing but the socks for this Tuesday. See you later this week!
