Lion & Witch Croc Strapless Dress / Leopard Louboutin Heels / Annie Handbags “Athena” Clutch c/o / LVcr8 Turquoise Necklace c/o / Stella & Dot Hoop Earrings
Just because it’s fall doesn’t mean you can rock a strapless dress! I fell madly in love with this gorgeous croc version from Lion & Witch; it’s the perfect fall color to coordinate with. (If you are a Dallas/Ft. Worth gal and planning on going to Cattle Baron’s Ball this weekend, this would be an awesome choice to wear to that evening!) I paired it with a simple long strand of LVcr8 turquoise beads doubled up, as well as my Louboutin leopard print heels. And can I just have a moment of silent admiration for this Annie “Athena” clutch?! It rocks my world. I know a clutch is a “splurge”, since it doesn’t get used as often as your day bag, but this one is worth EVERY. SINGLE. PENNEY. The neutral, glazed, embossed crocodile leather goes with everything.
If you follow this blog on a regular basis, you may notice in these pics that my hair is a bit shorter than last week’s posts. I finally had my hair cut! My insane schedule makes it tough to squeeze in regular hair trims, but I made the commitment to get my hair back to healthy when I visited Artists + Architects salon in Turtle Creek Village this past weekend. Creative Director, Derek Sansone used his magic hands to transform my super long, knotted, split ends into face framing layers and healthy ends! The salon is brand new, so the decor is sleek, minimalist, and very zen. The friendly staff offer you a little menu when you arrive, which includes awesome things like iced tea, sparkling water, espresso, hot tea, local craft beers, a selection of wines and whiskey. They also offer gourmet popcorn, cookies, and seasoned trail mix. Talk about a delicious way to get in the mood for a new style!
Derek let me give him the lowdown on my hair, and he offered his ideas. I love the no-pressure atmosphere of the salon; I felt like I could be honest about my hair wants and needs without being persuaded to do something I wasn’t comfortable with. (I think we’ve all had that moment at the salon where we were persuaded against our better judgement to get a cut or color we weren’t quite ready for.) I was able to keep my length, but walk about of Artists + Architects with much shiner, healthier, and beautiful hair. (I received some great compliments on it not long after walking out the door!) Lesson learned from this experience? Always go to a salon that will really hear you. You leave feeling like you’ve made a new friend, and you don’t have any hair regrets.
