My face always feels weighed down after a long day of wearing makeup in the summer heat. I hate the feeling of washing off layers of dirt and makeup! I routinely try different cleansing methods to see which works best removing my heavy work makeup and sweat after a good workout. I’d been hearing whispers about Colleen Rothschild for a while now, but I’m always a bit reluctant to try something new if I don’t know much about it. I did a little research on the brand, and found out the creator, Colleen Rothschild, spent years developing the formulas for other amazing products. When I heard that the creator of some of my favorite products now has her own line, I thought it would be worth checking out.
The first thing to try is the Radiant Cleansing Balm. This balm feels lighter and creamier than coconut oil and has a spa-like scent…it smells like a calming lavender to me. It leaves skin soft, but not with that filmy residue that some cleansers leave behind on the face. It doesn’t take much of the product to cleanse your entire face, so even though the price for the balm might seem high to you ($66), it will go a looooong way and last you quite a while. The major bonus of this product is the muslin cloth that comes with it to wipe down your face. (I suggest rubbing the balm gently into your skin to remove your makeup, then soaking the muslin cloth in hot water before using it remove the residue completely. Feels amazing.) It’s incredibly effective at removing every last trace of makeup! It’s hard to find a cleanser that gets every mascara smear or heavy foundation out of every crevice on your face, but this one does it. Every. Single. Trace.
Last piece of advice?
Finish your routine by rinsing your face off with ice-cold water. This will help close your pores up, leaving your face clean and refreshed. Plus, your retinols or serums will be absorbed more deeply! Speaking of….I also tried out Colleen Rothschild No. 9 Face Oil, which I was also thrilled with. I LOVE face oils, and this one leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. It absorbs quickly and makes my face feel hydrated, not oily. If you suffer with dry skin, this is a great product to keep it soft. The Oil No. 9 can also be used to hydrate dry cuticles, smooth dry and rough patches of skin such as the knees and elbows and tame down fly away hair!
Now, on to the only nude shirt you’ll ever need. It’s got a funny name, which is what drew me to it: Nudy Patooty! This product is designed to be the undergarment ” base layer that is body slimming, moisture wicking, and a practical solution to keep your clothes clean”. If you happen to sweat (especially excessively in this crazy summer heat), Nudy Patooty shirts have a secret sweat fabric in the underarms. We shot these photos in the middle of the day in Dallas summer temps that felt like 107 degrees. Though I was sweaty everywhere else, this shirt kept me feeling dry the entire time. I loved this shirt so much that I wore it by itself, but this shirt will disappear under your clothes if you choose to wear it as an undershirt. (Doesn’t the nude look so nice with white?) This tee fits very snugly against the body, and is so super soft that it feels like you aren’t wearing a thing! Colors range from black, white, and nude. Get yours here.
Have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll be back next week with more reviews and new items!
