Let me preface this post by saying, if you are researching a spa day at the Four Seasons, you’ve come to the right place. But also be forewarned: your spa experience there will possibly keep you from being productive for the rest of the day because you are soooo zen. It’s really THAT good.
I got the chance to indulge in the seasonal Pumpkin Latte massage, facial, and pedicure at the Four Seasons Dallas at Las Colinas last week, and holy smokes…it was like being transported to paradise for the day. As a general rule, most spa experiences are typically pleasant and relaxing, but this was on another level. If you are planning a spa day experience, let me give you a few pointers on how to make the most of it.
- Get there early! Don’t arrive the standard 15 minutes before your appointment at the Four Seasons…get there earlier to settle in and relax pre-appointment. The have the comfiest robes to change into, soft slippers, and several different areas to lounge in while you are waiting for your service. Give yourself plenty of time to change, put your things away in your locker, and get cozy in your robe.
- Take advantage of the goodies. There was a dispenser of Apricot Mango Iced Tea, Pineapple Lime Infused Water, and an assortment of hot teas and coffee with all the condiments. Why not get there, get cozy, and pour yourself a beverage to enjoy while reading a book or a magazine?
- Bring a swimsuit. There is a hot whirlpool and a cold plunge pool, and you don’t want to miss this experience. After a massage treatment especially, these feel amazing on your muscles.
- Enjoy the steam room and sauna! Seasonal allergies got your sinuses in a mess? The combo of these two will get them back to normal in no time. Plus, your skin glows like no other after a steam session.
- Cold facial towels and cucumber slices are available for you to use at your leisure. Don’t pass up this little luxury. You’ll feel so fancy!
My massage, facial, and pedicure were all hands-down the best I’ve ever experienced. The masseuse, Frances, even topped off my rub down with some Yoga Balm to help with the aches and pains I’ve been experiencing in my shoulders and lower back, and it felt amazing. She listened carefully to all my concerns and addressed every single one of them, tailoring my experience so it was exactly what I needed. I left that session feeling light years better.
The esthetician helped me see that I need to exfoliate more often to scrub away the constant spray tan I am using, which sticks inside pores more deeply than just regular oil and makeup. She also said the longer it sits in your pores, the more enlarged your pores can permanently become. Eeek! She gave me some great recommendations and did such a relaxing job on the facial that I fell asleep and my snoring woke me up.
Don’t underestimate the power of a simple mani and pedi, either…whether you’re male or female, it’s a small treat with big benefits.
If you head to a Four Seasons-especially the Four Seasons Dallas, indulge and enjoy, because they wrote the book on relaxation!
