Well, it’s been a few weeks, and it’s because I had my baby! Fox Jackson-Kennedy Hoferer made his way into the world and has taken over our usual routine. He’s been a wonderful baby, sleeping seven hours a night by the second week! I wish I could take any credit for his sleeping and eating skills, but we have an amazing night nanny who is developing all of his good habits. She has been a huge blessing and shown us parenting tips that we would never have known.
I wanted to show you a few pics from the week before Fox was born, too! My sweet friend Kimber had a beautiful bridal shower, which was such a lovely time. My other dear friend and celeb makeup artist, Daniela Bell and I took a photo at the shower together…the one where I’m in the black dress. I was just starting to feel a little “over” being pregnant that day. My husband was in a highway accident while I was at the shower, and our pantry flooded a bit later that night, so being nine months pregnant and dealing with those things really began to feel overwhelming!
The other photo where I’m in the red dress is from Kimber’s wedding! She had a “surprise” wedding that blew everyone away…we all thought we were attending an engagement party! It was one of the most special, exciting events I’ve ever been to. Doesn’t she look like a princess? She got married two days before I had the baby, but I squeezed my ridiculously large belly into that red dress and even managed to dance a little at the reception. (Perhaps the dancing kicked my labor into gear the next day…I guess I will never know.)
The pic on bottom is of our sweet little nursery. Our son had the special privilege of Courtney Warren of Courtney Warren Home design his room! Courtney has been gaining fame over the past few years on several TV networks and in tons of print publications for her creative aesthetic and super fun personality. Keep your eye out for more with her in the near future…she’s going to be taking over the design world! (And she was super cool to go with my gold metal crib idea…I wanted a metal crib from the get-go, and she incorporated so many unique elements to go with it.)
The top and middle pics are of our little dude two days after he was born. We did a Fresh 48 photography session at the hospital so we could capture his first moments on earth. Though I was sore, puffy, and extremely sleep deprived, I couldn’t be happier that we decided to snap those moments. If you are on the fence about whether to spend money on a Fresh 48 session, I highly recommend you do it. You won’t regret having these touching pics to show your little one when they are older.
I’ll be back soon with a regular post, but wanted to share some of these candid moments from the past month. It’s been a blessing to see how God has rearranged our lives to make room for His gifts. Thank you to everyone for the kind wishes and prayers!
