Top Left: My anniversary was this past weekend, so we celebrated close to home this year. Last year, we traveled to Turks & Caicos for a week of sun and surf, so this year was a low-key weekend in one of our favorite cities, Fort Worth. We stayed at the beautiful Omni Hotel in a super cool suite overlooking a landmark that I’ve loved since living there several years ago. (See photo of Texas & Pacific Lofts at Top Right.) The balcony had such a great view, we could see the Fort Worth Water Gardens and watched a marriage proposal take place there. The potential groom spelled out “Marry Me” in dozens of candles at the water gardens, and crowds stood around cheering as she said yes! (Side note: this hotel has great customer service and friendly staff. The brunch at Cast Iron in the hotel is delicious and worth every penny. Cinnamon rolls and garlic biscuits are to die for!)
Middle Left: I never took ballet growing up, but I got a crash course in some ballet moves at the Avant Chamber Ballet last week. They were kind enough to let me shoot a segment for the show with their guest choreographer and Artistic Director. You can see the results of my lessons here.
Middle Right: It’s a family tradition to take a goofy photo every Mother’s Day, so this year was no exception. We took my Mom to brunch at Fearing’s in the Ritz-Carlton, and once we’d stuffed ourselves to the point of sheer pain, we took this photo. I have an awesome collection of ridiculously terrible faces from these photos over the years. Great memories!
Bottom Left: Isn’t this a pretty coffee table arrangement? This was taken at Chef Kent Rathbun’s beautiful home during a curated dinner to learn about Monterey County. Monterey County is located on the beautiful Central Coast of California, and whether you fly or drive, the views are breathtaking. Chef John Cox of Post Ranch Inn was a guest chef, who educated us about the amazing local cheeses, breads, and wines. Besides the beautiful coast, you’ll find 46,000 acres of vineyards, 26 golf courses including the famed Pebble Beach Golf Links, wine tasting rooms, Land Rover off road adventures, and more. If you’d like to plan a vacation to this amazing destination, you can request a free copy of Monterey’s official Travel Guide visit SeeMonterey.com.
Bottom Middle: One of Chef Rathbun’s amazing creations: Slow Roasted Carmel Valley Lamb, Wild Cherry Balsamic Glazed Cippolini Onions, Fingerling Potatoes, and Rathbun Farm Egg Salad. Mouthwatering! This was one of five things we ate that evening; needless to say, it was another night of full tummies.
Bottom Right: I spent Tuesday this week shooting for a new fitness line with one of my favorite fashion photographers, Shana Anderson. I had to post a snap of the braid action we had going on with our hair! I’m happy braids have made a serious comeback these past few years.
I’ll be back with more style posts next week. Have a wonderful weekend!
