I spent this past weekend in fabulous Kansas City. I don’t have enough words to express how lovely this city is! We explored the Power & Light District, the Plaza Arts Festival, Union Station, the Financial District, Quality Hill, and the magnificent Webster House. The old architecture blends beautifully with the new renovations, which is one of the reasons Downtown Kansas City was selected as one of America’s Best downtowns by Forbes magazine. It’s rich in the arts, has numerous breathtaking fountains, upscale shopping and the nation’s best barbecue. Oh, and if you’re into home decor, you absolutely have to check out Nell Hill’s. It’s a dream come true for decorating aficionados!
If do you find yourself visiting, I highly recommend staying at the Ambassador Hotel. It’s newly renovated, and as you can see from the snaps my husband took of the lobby and our room, it’s impressive. It’s an old bank building, replete with original marble and a chic lobby restaurant/bar. This city has so much to offer if you’re looking for a fun weekend escape….Forbes Magazine definitely hit the bull’s-eye.
With fall weather in full swing in Kansas City, I was able to finally break out a long-sleeved shirt! Things can only get better from here.
