Urban rebounding may sound like a fighting match in downtown Detroit, but it’s actually just jumping on a mini-trampoline. And I LOVE it.
It all started when my sister bought a mini-tramp for my Mom one year. My Mom really enjoyed it, but her back didn’t appreciate it quite as much. I had fond memories of jumping on trampolines with childhood friends in their backyards, since we weren’t allowed to have one. (Apparently the high number of broken arms and legs in our neighborhood from trampolines was enough to blacklist it.)
Now that I’m responsible for my own doctor’s bills, my Mom actually encouraged me to try it. And it’s fun! Jumping on a mini-tramp can burn up to 200-300 calories an hour…or more, depending on how fast or high you are jumping. Since the lymphatic system is the metabolic waste bin for your body, rebounding rids you of toxins like dead cells, fat, infectious viruses, heavy metals, and other assorted stuff cast off by the cells. When you jump, it stimulates a free-flowing system that drains out the bad and restores the good.
Mini-tramps are portable and lightweight, so you can throw it in the trunk of your car and take it just about anywhere. Though I like to bounce while watching Wendy Williams or Days of Our Lives, it’s incredibly calming and fun to jump outdoors while the weather isn’t too hot. Luckily, to combat the warm weather, I have new adidas Tech-fit boy shorts that are comfy and keep moisture away. Oh, and my absolute must-have adidas product, the Energy Boost 2.0 shoes. Though some gymnasts like to bounce barefoot, most experts say to wear supportive shoes while giving rebounding a try. (And ladies, if you’re blessed upstairs, go ahead and invest in the adidas Supernova racer bra, too.)
Happy Bouncing!
