The cotton summer dress is probably my favorite seasonal item. I like the lightweight, no-fuss ease of throwing on a summer dress and heading out the door. In fact, I was so lazy today, I also opted to forgo fixing my hair and twist it up in a simple, low bun. (Hey, if your hair is this long, then you totally understand. Plus, it’s really hot outside!)
In keeping with the theme of saving money this summer and keeping cool, this dress is a vintage find in a paisley print. Vintage isn’t something I pursue often, but I like making something old new again with fun shoes and accessories. I don’t frequent flea markets or vintage clothing shops, but when I go looking for antiques, I often find a clothing item or two that I think will make a cool addition to the closet. With thrift shopping being a staple for stylists and recessionistas, I think I may have to do more of it from now on.
