If you’ve ever been shopping in California and thought to yourself, “I wish they had stores like these at home!“, then you will breathe a sigh of relief. West Coast Vibes is a new Dallas boutique in Snider Plaza that brings the essence of Kitson and amazing brands you used to find at Fred Segal into one incredibly cool space. And if you don’t live in Dallas? You will still be able to score online finds, like their fabulous West Coast Vibes bomber jacket.
California casual is the best way to describe what you’ll find inside. Brands like Hard Tail, Chaser, Alo Yoga, Good Hyouman, and Spiritual Gangster give you the promise of soft, comfortable, and incredibly cute clothes. Owner Lori Landes curated the store with some of her favorite designers and brands after realizing the void that existed in Big D. I got the chance to chat with her during the grand opening weekend, and right off the bat she makes you feel like you’re in a boutique owned by your best friend. The vibe is truly laid back; you can browse shelves of some of the softest tees and hoodies you’ve ever touched or try on yoga styles that work in and out of your practice. What stood out most? I don’t see anything like these styles in other boutiques in town, which is exactly why Lori opened West Coast Vibes.
If you’re a mom and daughter duo, you can shop at the store together, too. Girls’ styles take over the lefthand side of the store, with cute accessories like a donut handbag and iron-on applique patches for denim and bomber jackets. (Remember how cool patches used to be??? Well, they are back. Squeal!)
My recommendations if you’re heading to West Coast Vibes to check things out? First, the bomber jackets are amazing. If you don’t add one other coat to your wardrobe this season, you need a bomber. I picked out a black version with rose gold zippers, but the pink and white was also a favorite. You should also try on Alo Yoga pants, which are perfect for workouts or a night out on the town. (Have you seen the moto leggings? HOT.) Don’t miss soft, gauzy tops by Hard Tail and the gorgeous jewelry, too. If you’re wondering about price points, I found everything to be budget friendly: crazy soft hoodies for $45, bomber jackets for $59, and jewelry in a wide range of prices. You don’t have to wait for an excuse to go back to California to look like you’ve been shopping in Santa Monica and lounging on the beach…it’s all right here!
