There is a reason celebrities and the fashion greats have stylists. It doesn’t matter how much fashion sense you think you have; a trained professional will know what works. It’s amazing the number of styles, trends, and colors I tried in the past two years because of the insight of a great stylist who dressed me for work. She was intuitive, had an eye for things that I never thought would work on me (but did!), and made it a fun and painless process to try new ideas.
If that was all I’d ever gleaned from her, that would have been more than enough. However, I learned this weekend that she went to be with the Lord, and it made all those lessons and fun times seem all the more wonderful. It’s been quite a shocking year of losses, and this one was especially surprising because of her young age and vibrant spirit. It’s times likes these that I am reminded to really see people, tell them the things you love about them, and make sure they know you appreciate them. Her great choices of clothing were only a tiny reflection of the great choices she made in how she lived her life, and I will carry those things with me in my heart. Her encouragement and phenomenal sense of style are part of what inspired me to blog. (Thank you, Paige.)
