It’s finally Friday!
Today’s post is a work recommendation. If you take your laptop to work everyday like I do, then you know what a pain it is to haul that thing around. Even if you have something light like the MacBook Air, it’s still cumbersome. I not only need a way to transport my laptop to work, but all the power cords, too. Oh, and my breakfast cookie and morning tea. And my security badge, keys, makeup, emergency snacks, and hairbrush. So, today’s post is less about fashion and more about function….in the form of my messenger bag.
I’ve looked high and low for a messenger bag that is sturdy enough to hold all my items and withstand being thrown around. I’ve had messenger bags that were all about style (a gorgeous Louis Vuitton that I wore until it was threadbare), a bag that was more tote than messenger (a freebie from a special event that eventually fell apart), and now I think I’ve found the winner. The High Sierra Tank Messenger bag.
This bag is good looking, but it’s the bells and whistles on the inside that won me over. There is a zippered pocket on the front, side mesh water bottle pockets and cell phone pocket, a loop to hold a bike LED blinker, padded laptop section, a mesh padded shoulder pad…and the entire bag weighs about two pounds, so it’s lightweight! It holds everything I need for work plus travel, and it doesn’t weigh me down. The material is tough enough to stand up to me tossing it around, too. When it comes to protecting my laptop, I can’t let fancy fashion bags woo me away from what I know works best, and that’s a functional, attractive and affordable bag. (This one is less than $35, which I think is a steal.)
Okay, a little bit of fashion before I go…my layered necklaces are some of my favorite Miriam Merenfeld Jewelry pieces. The Lariat necklace and Monogram necklace are delicate and perfect for wearing to work!
